Hawai`i Endemism
A Treasure Trove of Species!
Located more than 1000 miles away from any other land mass, with the exception of tiny Johnston atoll 450 miles South, the Hawaiian Islands are the most remote island chain in the world. As a result of the islands' geographical isolation, a quarter of the thousands of organisms that make Hawai`i's reefs their home are endemic species, or those found nowhere else on earth! Help preserve and protect Hawai`i's unique ecosystem. Please donate or sign up to volunteer today!
